CHILDLINE 1098 is a National emergency helpline that spells hope for millions of children across India. It is a 24-hour a-day, 365 days a year, free, emergency phone service for children in need of aid and assistance. ASRITHA has played the role of Collaborative Organisation to the CHILDLINE India Foundation(CIF) since 2018 in running the Railway CHILDLINE at Kachiguda Railway station-Hyderabad. We rescue the children who are deserted, run away, missing, and trafficking, and also the emergency needs of children but also link them to relevant services for their long-term care and rehabilitation.
ASRITHA has advocated the need for focused programs and special attention at Kachiguda Railway station for outreach services for identifying and assisting children who are found unaccompanied by adults, and hence address the issue of runaways, children in difficult circumstances and missing or abandoned children in a systematic manner. Overall ASRITHA CHILDLINE from the initiation in the Kachiguda rescued 1731 children and among them, 1205 children were reunited with their families, and 526 children were referred to childcare institutions.
The CHILDLINE project has been closed in August 2023.
