About Founder

Mr. S. Nagaraja started ASRITHA with a passion to work for the development of the poor and marginalized people in the society,especially children, living on the streets and in difficult circumstances who are affected by social evils such as abuse and addiction. Mr.Nagaraj has 20 years of in-depth experience in the field of child rights and worked with various esteemed organizations.

During his association with SATHI, he had organized several motivational camps on intervention of substance addictions and brought momentous changes in the lives of many vulnerable children. Mr.Nagaraj has attended capacity building sessions hosted by Dr.Shekhar Sheshadri from NIMHANS, Bangalore and Fr. George Kollashani who pioneered many innovative efforts to rehabilitate children living in difficult circumstances.

His experience in the field of child development gave him the opportunity to be invited as the Resource Person to guide the team heading ‘Balatejassu street children project’ initiated by ActionAid-Hyderabad Office in 2001. This project was set up in 8 railway junction across United Andhra Pradesh, in which he contributed services required for the children in difficult circumstance, also guided the team in these locations. He has provided his counselling expertise in government observation homes for children in Tirupati and Eluru towns. During this period, he received a certificate of appreciation from the Superintendent of Government Observation Home for boys, (Tirupati) for his tireless efforts in creating child-friendly homes.

In 2004, he got an opportunity to work with ActionAid-Andaman & Nicobar Islands for the people affected by Tsunami. He worked there for 4 years in the disaster relief zones.He worked in implementing relief and rehabilitation activities as part of sustainability livelihood programmes for the development of Fisher folk, Farmers, Persons with disability, Nicobar tribal community, children and women. He played an active role in building a network with the organizations working in Tsunami affected areas in Little Andaman.

These experiences after working with the marginalized communities and neglected children motivated him to start ASRITHA. Mr. Nagaraj also took the lead in initiating the Network for Protection of Child Rights (NPCR) with 15 like-minded NGOs working in Telangana state. Gradually he was able to establish residential homes for girls and boys in the year of 2010 in collaboration with Balyamitra network which coordinates various like-minded NGO’s.

Board

We have an experienced board having an average of 16 years standing in the field of social development especially in the area of child development and protection of child rights. Their commitment and dedication always inspire the organization and team members to give their best.The board members ensure their active participation in the meetings to get a widespread understanding of the issues faced by the target groups and team as well and help-out with apt resolutions. The General body meetings are held once a year. The management committee meets twice a year.

Mr. Rajendra Prasad, President

Mr. Rajendra Prasad has vastexperience over 3 decades in the social development sector, predominantlyworking in the field of child rights. He has been associated with M. V. Foundation as Chief Coordinator and is striving towards elimination of child labour through creating access to education. He has been a Member of the State Committee to frame rules for the implementation of the Right to Education Act. He has also been with the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. As a State Representative he holds the responsibilities of the investigation of child rights violation cases, Implementation of RTE, organizing public hearings at various levels and mobilizing local community groups to conduct public hearings in the best interest of the children. He has completed his Masters of Arts and also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Children, Youth Development from Institute of Social Studies,Hague-Netherlands.

Dr. Mamatha Raghuveer, Vice - President

Dr.Mamatha Raghuveer Achanta is the founder of Tharuni NGO and is a Pro-bono advocate and filed 127 public interest litigations for protection of child and women rights. Dr Mamatha is also the technical director to Telangana State Police for the Bharosa initiative. She has worked as Chairperson at Child Welfare Committee, Warangal and as a Member at State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Telangana. She has done her MSc & PhD in Biological sciences, Master's in Social Work and Degree in Law. She has a Brown Belt in Martial arts, Certificate in Veena (Carnatic Music) and a Senior Diploma in the language Russian.

Ms. Nikhat Fathima, Treasurer

Ms. Nikhat Fatima has an experience of 30 years in the NGO sector. She is a lawyer and keen about human rights issues especially those concerning women and children. She specialised training in gender and life skills.She has good drafting skills that have proved to be helpful in

documenting the achievements of the organizations. Ms. Nikhat Fatima also writes for digital news portals that publish news stories about the marginalized communities. She dabbles on BlogSpot and posts videos on YouTube. She published her work in Indian Voices: An anthology of prose and poetry by emerging Indian writers around the world.

Mr. S. Nagaraja - Founder of ASRITHA

With over 20 years in child rights, Mr. S. Nagaraja founded ASRITHA to uplift marginalized children affected by social evils. With 25 years of experience, Vishy Teki specializes in strategic communication, knowledge management, and project management. His expertise includes donor reporting, digital communications, and partnership management across diverse regions such as South East Asia, South Asia, and Africa. Vishy has led impactful projects in humanitarian response, human rights, education, and more. He is also a seasoned storyteller, producing compelling narratives for international NGOs and Thomson Reuters Foundation UK, highlighting development issues and marginalized voices.

B. Kondal Reddy is a dedicated activist with a passion for grassroots social change. As a key figure in Rytu Swarajya Vedika, Kondal Reddy has championed the cause of rural farmers and marginalized communities, advocating for their rights and better living conditions. With a deep commitment to sustainable development and social justice, he has led numerous initiatives aimed at improving agricultural practices, promoting farmer welfare, and empowering rural populations. His work reflects a profound dedication to creating equitable opportunities and fostering a just society.

S. Chandranna, brings extensive experience from the NGO sector. With a proven track record in the field, Chandranna has made significant contributions to various projects, leveraging his expertise to drive impactful change and support the organization's mission

CORE GROUP

The organization has formed a core group that consists of senior team members and members from the management. This core group meets once in every quarter to discuss the various programmes such as future plan of the children, organization’s development, staff capacity building, qualitative outcome and challenges in programme implementation. This core group brings the issues or any changes at organization level, into the notice of the respective management committee.

ASRITHA has well-experienced team members with a strong determination and commitment towards working for the development of the needy. The management ensures a secured environment with a mutual respect between the team members and management that brings- out a qualitative outcome in the process of bringing-up the children as responsible citizens. We inculcate 21 century skills and qualities such as positive attitude, child centric- approach, collaborative problem-solving skills, effective communication skills in every child and create enriching experience to provide sustainable future for them by making them socially and economically reliant.
