The Community Based Care Programme has been designed to support the children and youth living in the community. The concept of Community Based Care contains the following key features that play an important role in creating child-friendly local communities through sensitizing them about the role of civil society in protecting the rights of the children. ASRITHA is providing CBCP services to 20 children who were residing in 14 areas of Hyderabad like Gousenagar, Old Bowinpally, Lalapet, Kaalimandir, Gudimalkapur and a few more areas. In future, ASRITHA is planning to extend this program to 5 more communities to reach and support 1000 young adults at the community level.
The community-based care programme will comprise the following key activities - Learning Centre, Parents collective, Educational and Life skills, Perspective building, Value education and extra-curricular activities, Food security and nutritional care, Health and hygiene, Counselling and mental well-being, Participation and leadership qualities, Entitlements and Bal Sanghatan. Beyond this, the children who have been reunited with their parents under this Community-Based Care Programme, are proudly introduced as ‘Change Facilitators’ in their respective communities, who inspire the other children and adults.
