How the child came to us:
During our social mobilizer was in his regular outreach, he came across about Vandana who dropout from school and used to work as a domestic worker. On seeing the children he met his grandmother who was at her old age, explained about the education and protection and admission in ASRITHA Girl’s home.
Family background
Vandana family stayed at Mehadipatnam and her father Vandana’s mother as a second wife, but he didn’t revealed to her mother. One day her mother came to know about it and frequently family disturbances on the matter. They have separated and both mother and Vandana lived at grandmother’s home. Vandana used to go to school and their mother used to go for work as a domestic worker. Suddenly her mother met with an accident and died on the spot. After the death of their mother she dropout from school and then started working as a domestic worker. After few years, her father died due to over consumption of alcohol.
Then the social mobilizer came to know about the children conditions and interacted with their grandmother and was given admission in ASRITHA Girl’s home.
After coming to our home:
After she has joined rainbow home, we did assessment on education and provided bridge course for a period of 9th months and mainstreamed in to 6th class in to regular school. In our home we encouraged and motivated in education and other activities that helped her emotionally stability and we also provided life skills training. We strengthen her social skills and encouraged to participate in events or programme that helps her developed her leadership skills and self-confidence. Apart from education, she is good in dancing and drawing and often participated in indoor and outdoor.
She passed 10th class and Intermediate successfully and continuing higher education studying B.Tech Civil engineer 3rd year.
Present Status of the Child :
Presently she is pursing MBA II year in Vanitha Mahavidyalaya, Exhibition Grounds, Nampally and the girl is touch with us and encouraging the girl towards her career.
